Director of Operations
I am a University of Queensland veterinary graduate, who has always had a passion for all things medicine (and cats!). In my early career I spent 5 years in the UK, working in general practice and completing a 3-year residency in feline medicine at the University of Liverpool, whilst completing the RCVS Cert in Small Animal Medicine and the ANZCVS Membership in Medicine of Cats.
After returning to Australia I worked in a series of feline, referral and University practices – consolidating my passions for clinical teaching and post-graduate education. I spent 7 happy years in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of Queensland, becoming the first Clinical Academic in Small Animal Medicine and taking the UQ School of Medicine Grad Cert in Clinical Education.
A sea change saw my return to private medical practice, before a fantastic opportunity arose to continue working in the veterinary education sector. I joined the team at Improve International Australia in 2015 and in January 2019 became the Director of Operations.
My aim is for each person coming into an Improve program is that they gain relevant, practical knowledge to upskill and empower them so there is the opportunity for progress and growth in their career.
Originally from Christchurch I’ve been on the Sunshine Coast with my family for nearly 9 years. My husband and I have two gorgeously bright, challenging and thoughtful daughters, but we are mostly ruled by two cats and a dog.
I manage Improve’s online learning platform (Moodle) and aim to provide delegates with a smooth online learning experience. I also coordinate the delivery of our fast track and face to face modules. As your program manager I’m here to help you make the most of your program, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions or issues, no matter how big or small!
I’ve worked in education for many years in different roles, and what I love about Improve is the passion the team has for educating and empowering vets.
Office Manager (Accounts/Administration)
Erin has worked in the veterinary industry for over 15 years in a finance/HR/administration capacity, and more recently with Improve in accounts/administration and working with the team in event logistics.
Owned by three cats and two dogs (mostly rescue animals), Erin is keen to help the team further continuing education in the veterinary industry.
Originally from Northern NSW, we made the decision to relocate back north (and to the warmth) after a few years braving the cold in Canberra. My husband and I have a very energetic little boy, and two mischievous Beagles. The sea change allowed me to further pursue my career in Marketing and Communications.
I manage the Marketing and Communications side of the business, as well as our social media accounts. I’ve worked in many different marketing and advertising roles, and look forward to sharing my passion with the team, and sharing the team’s passions for educating and empowering vets.
